According to ESPN, Stan Van Gundy will become the new Orlando Magic head coach. Stan Van Gundy used to be the head coach of the Miami Heat until Pat Riley pushed him out of that position. He then took on a consultant role for the team. Since Van Gundy is still under contract with the team, Pat Riley and the Heat will probably ask for compensation to release him from said contract. Van Gundy had met with Sacramento Kings management in Las Vegas for his second interview but apparently was more interested in the Magic job. Van Gundy could not be reached for comment nor could Pat Riley.
Are the Magic better off with Stan Van Gundy than Billy Donovan as head coach? If you have an opinion, let us hear it. Email us!
