A Philly Philms production, The Palestra: Cathedral of Basketball provides a vivid history of the most storied college basketball venue in NCAA history, The Palestra. Through interviewing past players (Corky Calhoun), coaches (John Chaney and Jack Ramsay), and local media (Harry Kalas and Dick "Hoops" Weiss) writer and director Mikaelyn Austin paints a deeply moving picture of what is was like playing and watching a game at The Palestra.

Civil War in the Cubs Clubhouse

After surrendering 5 runs in the 5th inning, Cubs ace Carlos Zambrano and catcher Michael Barrett decided the best way to get their points across to each other was slugging one another in the face. Even after the altercation in the dugout, Barrett and Zambrano weren't done. After Piniella told Zambrano to hit the showers, Barrett went off after him while Piniella was watching the game. What ensued next sent Barrett to the hospital with two black eyes. A very pissed off Piniella expressed his anger by telling reporters during the post game conference, "I only have so many players that I can play. You know? And it's about time some of them start playing like major leaguers! Or, get somebody else in here that can catch the damn ball or run the bases properly! All right? That's all I can say!". What was suppose to be a playoff year for the Cubs has quickly deteriorated into what is probably going to be a sub .500 season. There were huge expectations of this team after signing Alfonso Soriano to a huge contract and a free agent spending spree that amounted to 300 million dollars. I guess the saying that "money doesn't buy happiness" rings true.
