A Philly Philms production, The Palestra: Cathedral of Basketball provides a vivid history of the most storied college basketball venue in NCAA history, The Palestra. Through interviewing past players (Corky Calhoun), coaches (John Chaney and Jack Ramsay), and local media (Harry Kalas and Dick "Hoops" Weiss) writer and director Mikaelyn Austin paints a deeply moving picture of what is was like playing and watching a game at The Palestra.

Fire David Stern and Hire Me!

Everyone has said it, these NBA Finals are garbage. No one has enjoyed watching this slaughter. All the Cavaliers and LeBron are getting out of this is invaluable playoff experience. The fans however are getting nothing out of this. The Finals ratings are terrible and the only way to make sure this doesn't happen again is to go to a new playoff system. The new playoff system would pit Eastern Conference teams against Western Conference teams in the first round. For example, we could have seen a Jazz vs. Bulls and a Cavaliers vs. Lakers first round series. It's as easy as using the current seeds and just pitting East vs. West. As an end result we could have gotten what we all wanted to see, a competitive and fun NBA Finals. And to make matters worse the East lost out on Kevin Durant and Greg Oden after the NBA Lottery was all said and done. So an already mediocre conference gets even more mediocre. There are a few snags though to the new system. The playoffs would have to go to the unpopular 2-3-2 format so that teams wouldn't have absurd travel schedules and game start times might be a little out of whack. I think that those sacrifices are pretty insignificant in order to get a competitive NBA Finals.
