A Philly Philms production, The Palestra: Cathedral of Basketball provides a vivid history of the most storied college basketball venue in NCAA history, The Palestra. Through interviewing past players (Corky Calhoun), coaches (John Chaney and Jack Ramsay), and local media (Harry Kalas and Dick "Hoops" Weiss) writer and director Mikaelyn Austin paints a deeply moving picture of what is was like playing and watching a game at The Palestra.

Crown Him. The King Has Taken His Throne.

I know this post is two days late but bear with me here. It has taken me two days to process what happened at The Palace on May 31st. What LeBron James did was arguably the greatest playoff performance of all time. This is one of those sports days where you remember where you were. You will get into a conversation with someone about basketball, mention this game, and both of you will tell each other where you were. The accounts will be so accurate you'll scare yourself. This is why we watch sports, for this kind of moment. Let's just hope that effort wasn't for nothing as the Cavs can close out the series against the Pistons tonight at 8:30.
